In 2015, Novotel in Antwerp-North opted for purification of all their wastewater by means of a phytoair (aerated helophyte filter). +
Camping 't Hof Bellewaerde has had a phytoparking installed by Rietland that purifies black (32m2) and gray (44m2) waste water separately. +

2. voor vaardigheden die speciaal gelden voor informele cliëntondersteuners +
Everyone flushes 130 liters of dirty water every day. This water disappears through the toilet, sink and shower drain. Water is saved by means of, among other things, water-saving shower heads. +
We bevinden ons in een deltagebied, waar waterkwaliteit en watertechnologie een belangrijke rol spelen voor zoetwaterbeschikbaarheid voor industrie en landbouw. De groep Water Technology houdt zich bezig met waterkwaliteit, beschikbaarheid, waterhergebruik, terugwinning van grondstoffen uit water en zuiveringssystemen. De onderzoeksgroep bezit de juiste vakkennis, is onafhankelijk en werkt veel samen in regionale, nationale en internationale netwerken. Het technologische onderzoek spitst zich toe op vragen van verschillende belanghebbenden. Door in een vroeg stadium de belanghebbenden te betrekken in het project, wordt de meerwaarde van nieuwe technologie en de kans op implementatie aanzienlijk vergroot. +

The HZ Delta Academy participates together with 3 provinces, 9 municipalities, two other Universities of Applied Sciences and several other organizations in Waterpoort. Waterpoort is an area development process initiated by the province of Brabant to create new opportunities in the mainly rural area around the Volkerak-Zoom lake. In this area redevelopment process, involved governments, businesses, ngo’s and citizens try to find new roles in water related area development. The involved organizations try to stimulate and facilitate citizens and local businesses to innovate, to restore connectivity with the water and to co-create an identity and future of the area.
In this project you will build on previous research. With input from participating students we created an overview of the different user groups in Waterpoort and their relation with the water system, as well as an overview of the main historical drivers for transitions in the area. New insights about water sensitive area development are brought together in an overall document, called the ‘Atlas of the Waterpoort’.

Drinking water from purified wastewater? The restaurant Gust’eaux in Kuurne (Belgium) partnered with BOSAQ, Tuincreatie Igodt, Vlakwa and Ghent University to establish a world-first(!). The restaurant provided its visitors with high-quality drinking water, produced from their own wastewater using state-of-the-art technology. +

Wateroverlast in de toekomst kan worden omschreven als kort hevig nat en langdurig nat. Voor beide situaties zijn kwetsbare gebieden vastgesteld en is er op een abstract niveau nagedacht over adaptatie maatregelen. Daarnaast is er gekeken naar de droogte en hitte gevoeligheid van het eiland. +
