Voedselbank Walcheren

Project description:

The primary objective of this project ways to explore the awareness and perception of Voedselbank Walcheren among local residents. By understanding how the food bank is viewed within the community, the project aimed to identify key barriers and opportunities to increase engagement, support, and resources, particularly in terms of food donations and volunteer recruitment.

Outcomes:

Voedselbank Walcheren could explore awareness campaigns to normalize food bank use, highlighting the community support aspect and emphasizing the shared responsibility of helping those in need. By addressing the stigma, Voedselbank could make the food bank environment more welcoming, potentially reaching more people in need and reducing the social divide within the region. Research highlights that young people are more likely to engage with causes that align with their values, such as community support and social responsibility. Interviews with Voedselbank clients and volunteers suggest that having young people involved could enhance community connection and create an environment where clients feel seen and understood.
