Project description
Due to the campsite Boogaard having a rich history of their fields and how the campsite came to be, the campsite is looking for ways to implement storytelling to share with the guests the campsites authentic origin. With the aim of enriching the experience of the guests and sharing the history of it. Also, through storytelling they want to highlight the processes that take place at the campsite, like farming and to highlight the “Green key” aspect. With this the aim for the campsite is to promote care and awareness of nature, the environment and sustainability to its guests, with a goal to assure that future generations can continue to enjoy their beautiful environment.
The main question was: What strategy can be developed for accommodation providers to implement storytelling as a tool to enhance guest experience?
Outcomes:
Students proposed storytelling as a strategy to educate guests about sustainable farming and hospitality while strengthening their connection to campsite Boogaard. Testing with stakeholders and guests revealed that while storytelling is appreciated, it is not essential for guest satisfaction or a shift in their experience. Guests are already content with their stay, though some small recommendations were suggested. Since the campsite values tranquility, any storytelling efforts should align with this atmosphere. A soft launch or trial is advised to gather feedback, refine the approach, and potentially expand with new stories or interactive elements for returning guests.
