Summary of the project
After launching several remarkable innovations with recycled denim, BlueCamp have found yet another meaningful destination for our light blue DNA. BlueCamp joined forces with multinational and renown tent cloth manufacturer TenCate. A beautiful collaboration that resulted in an extraordinary fabric that blends the characteristics of the Blue LOOP denim look with high quality tent requirements such as water repellency, breathability and above all durability. This circular initiative is taking place in The Netherlands and in Belgium. From collecting and unraveling worn-out jeans, to yarn spinning, weaving and finally stitching the tents. It’s a simple loop that starts with anyone who decides to donate his or her blue friend in a textile container instead of throwing it into the bin. The recycled denim tent ‘BlueCAMP’ is the perfect accommodation for a camping holiday! BlueCamp offers full sleeping space for two to three people and is therefore popular among smaller families. The tent is made of a unique 270 grams TenCate canvas, which consists of 25% recycled denim, 25% cotton and 50% polyester. Enjoy the breathability of cotton, the durability of recycled denim and the lightweight and quick-drying properties of polyester. The subtle dark blue stitches really complement the grey-blue colour of the tent. The tent cloth has undergone a rot and mildew resistant treatment to make it more durable. the goal of the organization is to find sustainable solutions for every component in the tent.
