Summary of the project

The opening of the first circular cycle path in the municipality of Zevenaar took place on Monday 28th of May 2018. A special milestone for Zevenaar, since the cycle path is made mainly of bioasphalt and biobased concrete. But that is not the only reason why this cycle path is interesting. Especially the process, the collaboration and the 'Optimal Scan for sustainable and circular roads and paths' (a model developed for this circular cycle path) made the cycle path special: a first such case for the Netherlands. The idea for this pilot project arose from a working group of the Groene Allianties De Liemers.

Used techniques can be applied in multiple contexts.
