In Conclusion
CSH is not a complete method or methodology, such as the Soft Systems Methodology (SSM). It is a framework that addresses two principles of CST: critical reflection and emancipation. The third principle, pluriformity, is not explicitly represented. However, CSH can be well combined with other system varieties, such as the soft SSM approach. SSM identifies a problematic situation. The stakeholders’ world views regarding said situation can be seen as first order observations. CSH enables the exploration of boundary judgements that stakeholders make implicitly or explicitly as second-order observations. In this regard, CSH is a valuable extension of SSM.
