Op basis van alle documentatie die sinds de start van het CBCI (Circulair Bio-based Construction Industry) project is geproduceerd heeft Frank Peeters, Senior Lecturer & Researcher bij de HZ, een clubje van onderzoekers van Avans en KU Leuven vervoegd. Samen werken zij aan de hard copy en online publicatie van een 20-tal lesmodules over circulair bouwen met bio-based materialen. Studenten bouwkunde vormen de eerste doelgroep, maar ook docenten en studenten uit de business en economische wetenschappen kunnen de modules als zinvol ervaren. +
In dit project zullen verscheidene publieke en private partners samenwerken, onder leiding van het (Nederlandse) Kennis en innovatiecentrum Maintenance Procesindustrie (KicMPi) en de Belgian Maintenance Association (BEMAS), om de materiaal-voetafdruk van de procesindustrie in Zuid-Nederland en Vlaanderen te verkleinen en tegelijkertijd economisch voordeel te behalen. +
In de samenleving is een toename van de vraag naar grondstoffen. Daarnaast groeit de afvalproductie. Een circulaire economie kan dit probleem verhelpen door te focussen op het slim hergebruiken van grondstoffen en het duurzaam gebruik van natuurlijke hulpbronnen. Voor de verblijfsrecreatieve sector vormt circulair bouwen een duurzaam alternatief. +
Van betekenisvol ondernemen tot het bedenken van een circulaire oplossing voor drie verouderde schuren op een camping. Tijdens de bijeenkomst Circulair bouwen in de verblijfsrecreatie werd circulaire economie in bredere context geplaatst om vervolgens concreet met elkaar aan de slag te gaan. +

In onze samenleving zien we enerzijds een sterke toename naar de vraag van grondstoffen, anderzijds groeit onze afvalproductie. Het lineaire systeem van take- make and waste systeem maakt dat we straks onvoldoende grondstoffen hebben en te veel afval. Een circulaire economie zou hiervoor een oplossing kunnen bieden. +

Since September 2020, the Dunkirk Dunes de Flandre tourist office and convention center works with actors of the social economy to manufacture equipment, furniture and lunch boxes from recycled pallets. +
Facadeclick is the unique, circular product of Speed Building System, a Belgian company founded in 2016. It is a fast construction system in which a joint-free, circular façade can be quickly built with brick without mortar or glue. The bricks are, as it were, clicked together like LEGO blocks. +

Camping park Ons Buiten build a circular building for an indoor swimming pool. There was an old-fashioned building that was not sustainable, the new building is flexible, future-proof, built with circular materials, energy-saving and fits into the landscape. +

The HZ Green Office regularly organises cleanups. Currently, we're cleaning up De Binnenhaven Vlissingen every other week, as part of a research HZ Green Office is doing for the municipality; the info about what type of waste we find and how much feeds into a national benchmark. This information is used to set policies to prevent waste from the source.
Also, on a regular basis we organise beach cleanups or plogging events.
