Maria van Schaik

Maria is a junior researcher-lecturer in the field of Water Technology at the HZ University of Applied Sciences. She graduated Water Management at HZ University of Applied Sciences in 2014 and decided to continue with a Master in Water Technology at Wetsus Academy. Towards obtaining her Master’s degree, she carried out her internship and final thesis related to Nereda®, a wastewater treatment technology developed by Royal HaskoningDHV. The focus of the thesis was recovery of ALE (alginate-like exopolysaccharides) from Nereda® excess sludge via membrane filtration.
