Profieltekst:	Hi, my name is Merel! I am 22 years old and I am a 3rd year student in Pedagogy. For the last couple of years, I joined in with a few HZ Green activities and different small initiatives all over in Middelburg, including upcycling courses at Kilosale Zeeland. This inspired me to join more sustainable activities locally, now mostly with Green Office. I firmly believe that a greater world starts nearby. Seeing what beauty can be found, created and managed, will make an environment that doesn't value nature at all, less normal. I have been positively surprised by the range of students that attend each week, and I am glad to see the group having eyes for our individual talents to contribute in ways that come natural to us.

But in 2024 I decided to increase my participation, as I'd been missing a way to be involved more locally. Last year, I joined different small initiatives all over in Middelburg, including upcycling courses at the Kilosale Zeeland, which inspired me to join more sustainable activities locally. I firmly believe that a greater world starts nearby. Seeing what beauty can be found, created and managed, will make an environment that doesn't value nature at all, less normal. It would be amazing if nature was seen more as a context that we live in that matters because it is our world, instead of being seen as something outside of us that we can choose to care about. I have been positively surprised by the range of students that attend each week, and I am glad to see the group having eyes for our individual talents and potential to contribute in ways that come natural to us. As a contributor to our HZ Green website I hope to entice students to join us in our activities and our cause, for however individual goals may be, whether HZ Personality, learning a new skill, or meeting new people.
