Hi! I'm Aaron, from the United States. I joined the Green Office in September 2023 because I've been concerned about the direction the world leans in regards to climate and sustainability. I was also looking to meet people as a new student in The Netherlands- and what surprised me the most is that people are looking to meet me! Part of it is that I was raised in an environmentally conscious way, but regardless people in the Green-Office circles are super friendly and always willing to chat. Among GO activities, I especially like gardening and growing my own food, which (official secret!) makes it taste 3x better.

Hi, my name is Merel! I am 22 years old and I am a 3rd year student in Pedagogy. For the last couple of years, I joined in with a few HZ Green activities every now and then. Then, last year, I joined different small initiatives all over in Middelburg, including upcycling courses at Kilosale Zeeland, which inspired me to join more sustainable activities locally. I firmly believe that a greater world starts nearby. Seeing what beauty can be found, created and managed, will make an environment that doesn't value nature at all, less normal. I have been positively surprised by the range of students that attend each week, and I am glad to see the group having eyes for our individual talents to contribute in ways that come natural to us.
