Wat is psychotherapie en op welke manier kan het je helpen om beter om te gaan met de druk en zorgen die je kunt ervaren wanneer je ziek wordt? Psychotherapie is een effectieve gespreksbehandeling voor stoornissen en problemen. Met andere woorden, je gaat in gesprek met een psychotherapeut: een psycholoog of een psychiater. Het doel hiervan is psychische klachten zoals angst en stemmingswisselingen te verminderen of beter te leren hanteren.
Zeeland telt een groot aantal praktijken voor psychotherapie. In het ADRZ werken een aantal psychologen die gespecialiseerd zijn in oncologie (kanker). Deze psychologen helpen je om te leren omgaan met de ziekte kanker, en bieden je tevens handvaten voor het dagelijks leven. (Bronnen: ZB en ADRZ)
